Kenya Hosting… The Time is Now
A Cultural Exchange. A Family Experience. A Bridge to Hope.
Host Orphans Worldwide is excited to announce our Kenya Hosting Program, creating an opportunity for children from Kenya to experience the love, encouragement, and everyday life of a family in the United States through a short-term cultural exchange.
Our Kenya program is about so much more than a visit.
We believe that when children are welcomed into a family, they can experience something powerful: belonging, connection, encouragement, and the opportunity to see what family life can look like. They can share their own culture and traditions while experiencing ours—and return home with positive memories, new relationships, and a renewed sense of hope.
Our Bigger Vision
One of our greatest hopes for hosting in Kenya is to help break the stigma surrounding children growing up in orphanages and encourage a greater understanding of family-based care and adoption within Kenya.
Hosting is not an adoption program, and children return to Kenya following their cultural exchange. However, we believe these experiences can open hearts and create connections that extend far beyond the hosting trip.
When American families become connected to a child and learn about their story and community, they may also become passionate about supporting the child’s home, orphanage, school, or community long-term through sponsorship and other forms of support.
Creating Change Through Connection
Our goal is to build a bridge between cultures—one child, one family, and one relationship at a time.
Through hosting, children can:
- Experience positive family life in a safe and nurturing environment
- Build meaningful relationships with a host family
- Share their Kenyan culture and learn about American culture
- Experience encouragement and affirmation
- Create lasting memories outside of their everyday environment
- Connect their host families with their communities back home
- Open doors for sponsorship and long-term support of their homes and communities
And perhaps most importantly, we hope these experiences help change the way children without permanent families are seen—not only in the United States, but within their own communities.
A Visit That Can Have a Lasting Impact
We believe cultural exchange can be a catalyst for something much bigger.
A child comes for a visit.
A family opens their home.
Two cultures learn from one another.
A relationship is formed.
A community is supported.
And, over time, hearts and perspectives can change.
That is why we are opening hosting from Kenya.
We are excited to partner with Kenyan organizations and communities to create safe, meaningful cultural exchange experiences that put children first and help build a future where more children have the opportunity to experience security, love, and a faith-based experience.
